How do you connect with spirit?
Humans live in a very dense, physical world. The spirit world is much lighter, operating at a higher vibration. In order to connect and communicate, I have to raise my energy up with pure intentions and spirit has to bring their energy down. We basically meet in the middle of the earth plane and the spirit world. I liken it to a hummingbird at a feeder. It takes an incredible amount of energy for a hummingbird to hover at a feeder and do all of that flying. It takes an incredible amount of energy for spirit to bring their energy down and for me to bring my energy up in order to maintain a connection. The hummingbird can not maintain that connection forever, and neither can a medium. The hope is that we can connect long enough for spirit to impart their wisdom.
Who from the spirit world is communicating?
Guardian angels who are thought to have not walked the earth. They will not tell you what you should or should not do. They give options and choices along the way.
Spirit guides who are thought to have walked the earth and do know what it is like to live in this very dense, physical world we are in. They will share their opinion! Your loved ones who have passed fit in this category, although you can of course consider them guardian angels if that brings you comfort or peace.
Is this safe?
It is safe to practice/ participate in mediumship sessions if you have pure intentions and are trained or working with or under the guidance of a trained medium. Archangel Michael protects me and all of my clients with his sword of light. All unuseful energy is released and we are filled with the love and light of the Holy Spirit. Only messages for a person’s highest and best are allowed to pass through. Archangel Michael doesn’t play around!

I can not make your dad get on the horn with me in life, and I can not make him speak with me after his passing. We all have free will. Another factor is that spirit might not find me to be their cup of tea. (Hard to believe, but it’s true!) Just like in life, people are drawn to certain folks, certain personalities. This translates to the spirit world too.

Well, if you knew there would be bad weather, you might have declined to go. Therefore you never would have rekindled that relationship. It was meant to be. Having that money was a part of their path, their destiny in this lifetime. Maybe they are learning to navigate relationships or how to be responsible with resources. Winning that money will help them learn the lessons that they came here to get clear on. If landing a windfall of money will hinder your progress, it’s not happening.

Spirit is ingenious and continues to blow me away! A lot of times, reading for people is like playing charades or Pictionary. They use a lot of metaphors, different vocabulary and visual symbols. My job is to tell what I receive, not necessarily try to decode. That way we always have a connection to the spirit world and that is how our soul can communicate even when we are alive on earth.

Spirit operates via energy, not blood. If a person is part of your family, they are considered your family regardless of the parentage here on earth. In that same vein, step-children are considered children, no less than anyone’s biological child in the eyes of spirit.

If someone was a real jokester or character in life, they seem to like working with my energy. Lots of tough cookies and sweethearts come through as well. Someone overweight much of their life might portray themself as a fit football player aka how they felt best which was in their teen years.
Body parts I am shown usually have significance as they are particular to the person or unusual. Some include certain wisps of hair and the color, lots of hands and feet, arthritic body parts, certain markings, tattoos, height, body structure, teeth, eye color, etc. One time I described what a woman’s father looked like as far as hair, body type, a certain plaid shirt, personality, etc. When the session was complete, the woman took a photo out of her purse. It was an image of her dad wearing the exact shirt described! I later found out that she was so stunned (as a skeptic) that she shook all the way down the staircase after her session.
Items I have been shown include specific lockets, lots of watches, shoes, doilies, bureaus, favorite chairs/couches, vehicles, yards, land, dust, work clothes, work environments, etc. During one session a woman pulled the exact locket described out of her pocket. We were both stunned. That usually does not happen. Usually I will be shown an item such as a locket in general and it is a symbol for a locket the person had, but it’s not usually the exact description.
Spirit can share how they passed. I might feel short of breath, a pain in my side, a headache or see swirling in the blood for something that affects the whole body such as cancer or diabetes. Other times they share that they were sick for a long time or that they passed unexpectedly, suddenly like in a car accident or faster than they thought they would.
One time I had a gentleman come through who spoke with his hands and in a thick Boston accent. I was shown a very small weapon. He kept repeating, “But I’m a good guy! I’m a good guy!” He showed me a pan of muffins. What could be more innocent than a muffin? He was a tough guy but presented himself as sweet (tiny weapon, muffins, his charming insistence). He cracked me up! During the course of the session the client validated that he was sweet and tough, did have a heavy Boston accent, he had a cache of weapons concealed in his home and he did like to cook. She also shared that he did have some questionable dealings in life. Do I know what those dealings were exactly? No. And that leads me to the next question.
Will you know all of my deep, dark secrets?
No. Spirit often speaks in metaphors, symbols, etc. I tell clients that information conveyed will likely make more sense to them than to me. I often ask for clarification or further validations from spirit so that the client is sure it is their loved one. Usually spirit delivers. Sometimes they tell me, “It’s none of your business.” To me, that says spirit has given enough information for the client to understand the message. I do remember certain things, of course. But I truly do not know what it all means. As a medium, I am the vessel that receives the information, and then pours it out. It is not meant to be retained by me.
Can you communicate with animals?
Sometimes. That is not my specialty, but they have certainly come through on many occasions. One time I saw a cute little tan pup with disheveled fur. It was a male and he had his little pink tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. The impression was that he had come to a couple as an adult and he was very appreciative. He said, “Thank you for the care and compassion.” I said, “Do you mean love and compassion?” The pup said, “Well, love too, but thank you for the care and compassion.” He wanted it worded just so. The owners understood, as they had wrestled with the decisions made for end of life care. The decision was pup approved!

Some people are looking for a sense of closure with their loved ones. Other people want validation that their loved one who has passed is still a part of their life and is aware of their activities. Some people find joy and peace in hearing little tidbits from their loved ones who have passed.

Other spirits need a bit more time to reconcile their earthly actions. I have seen spirits in what I can only describe as schools, learning environments where they learn lessons or skills. One lady was working with children who appeared to be at desks. She was learning patience and stability. Some spirits need to be on their own to process information independently. I have seen that look almost like a cell of a honeycomb. It looked peaceful, quiet and white. My understanding was that that particular soul had some real work to do and was not ready to be with other souls yet.
Of course, spirit can convey information in many different ways to people. That is only what I have been privy to.
How does a medium prepare for a session?
Personally, I definitely don’t eat much prior to a session. I don’t drink a lot of anything either and I most certainly do not do this work after having alcohol. The medium must remain a clear channel for spirit communication. Grounding myself to mother earth and then connecting to spirit through meditation and gratitude are ways that I connect. When I know that a particular client is scheduled, I will keep them in my thoughts in the days leading up to their session. Spirit generally brings lots of information prior to a session and I take notes on what they convey to me so that I don’t forget! It is easy to forget the messages when they don’t come from you, the human. It is someone else’s thoughts, words, advice, beliefs etc.
How does the medium feel when conducting a session?
During the session I feel energized to connect with a person’s loved ones. When my energetic vibration is high I don’t generally have a sense of room temperature, hunger or thirst. After a session I have to bring my awareness back down to earth. I generally have a buzzy feeling in my head, like an overactive mind. It takes a few hours to get back to “normal” and then I am hungry and thirsty!
I also feel the emotions of people’s loved ones. Often there will be an overwhelming sense of love the person in spirit has for those they left behind. Sometimes it is joy, hope, peace or even disappointment if the person did not conduct themself in an upstanding manner. One time I had a very angry grandmother come through. She was apparently a force to be reckoned with in life as well. She (the spirit) zoomed right up to my face and was yelling. I communicated with her calmly and she toned it down, but was so defiant. Over the years of reading for her loved ones, I can confidently say that this grandmother has calmed down a lot. Her time in spirit has given her a fresh perspective. She has even admitted some mistakes she made in relationships while on Earth and explained why she behaved in that way. It is always interesting when she comes through!
